## How do you delete your account?

All on one card: Settings › Plan and billing › Account and data.

1. **Download your data (optional)**: The Download my data button saves everything we store about you as a JSON file. Keep it before you delete; afterwards it cannot be recovered.
2. **Open the card**: In the dashboard, go to the Account and data card at the bottom of Settings › Plan and billing.
3. **Choose what to delete**: Delete workspace: only this workspace, owner only; type the workspace name to confirm. Delete my account: your account and the workspaces you alone own; type SİL to confirm.
4. **Confirm with your password**: Enter your password and press Delete permanently. It happens right away and cannot be undone.

Go to the dashboard: [Settings › Plan and billing](https://uptika.app/app/?lang=en#/settings/billing).

## What is the difference between deleting a workspace and your account?

A workspace is where your apps, keywords and team live; your account is your sign-in.

| | Delete workspace | Delete my account |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Who can do it | Only the workspace owner | Anyone, for their own account |
| Confirmation | The workspace name and your password | The word SİL and your password |
| What is deleted | The workspace's apps, keywords, competitors, alerts, keys and readings | Your account, memberships and sessions, and the workspaces you alone own, with everything in them |
| Subscription | Cancelled | Cancelled for every workspace that is deleted |
| Afterwards | If you belong to another workspace you stay signed in; otherwise you are signed out | You are signed out |

A workspace that has another owner is not deleted with your account; only your membership is removed.

## What remains after deletion?

Deletion is permanent; a deleted workspace or account cannot be brought back.

- **Payment and receipt records** are kept for 10 years under Turkish tax law, without the Turkish ID number.
- **Product analytics and sign-in events** are kept for at most 180 days and the **error log** for at most 90 days, then deleted.

When a subscription is cancelled there is no partial refund for the paid period; details in the [cancellation and refund terms](https://uptika.app/legal/iptal-iade.html) (in Turkish). All retention periods are on the [Trust](https://uptika.app/en/trust) and [Capabilities](https://uptika.app/en/capabilities) pages.

## How do you delete it if you can't sign in?

First reset your password from the sign-in screen; the reset link goes to your account's e-mail address and is valid for 1 hour. Then delete with the steps above.

If that doesn't work, write "delete my account" to destek@uptika.app **from your account's registered e-mail address**. That is how we confirm the account is yours.

## Questions

### Can I get my data before I delete?

Yes. The Download my data button on the same card saves everything we store about you as JSON.

### I only want to end my subscription. Do I need to delete my account?

No. Cancel the subscription under Settings › Plan and billing; at the end of the period you move to the free plan and your data is not deleted.

### Can a deletion be undone?

No. The workspace's apps, keywords, competitors, alerts, keys and readings are deleted right away.

### I'm not the workspace owner. Can I delete it?

No, only the owner can delete a workspace. You can delete your own account, which only removes your membership.

### Why are my payment records kept?

Turkish tax law requires payment and receipt records to be kept for 10 years. They are kept without the Turkish ID number.
